Sofia Esther Bencsíková
I am a Slovak filmmaker and cinematographer working across film and photography.
I studied Photographic Design at Súkromná škola umeleckého priemyslu Bohumila Baču in Bratislava, graduating in 2024 with my graduate film Divná planéta. I am currently studying Cinematography at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, where I have worked on projects including Mám 20 rokov a o živote viem už všetko (2024).
My practice moves between fiction, documentary, experimental moving image, and photography. I am interested in exploring image, perception, and reality through different visual approaches and photographic processes, often combining traditional techniques with experimentation.
My work has been presented in exhibitions in Bratislava and Martin, while my cinematography has been recognised at film festivals in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
